Boom goes Erin!

I had an awesome week!

4 cross fit sessions, ran 16.4 miles total for the week, and kept 100% clean on my eating,  AND (drum roll please)...

I LOST 3 POUNDS!  Total of 8 since the start...so proud of myself!

I have set another goal for myself for the next year, due to an event yesterday!  I volunteered/judged at the Fittest in Oklahoma cross fit competition and it was awesome!  SO, I want to compete in it next year.  I have a year to get where I need to be to come out with a good showing...there were only 2 competitors in the master's division (boo, yes, I'm an old ass)! I want to have an awesome showing!  I know I can do it!

The Paleo challenge starts tomorrow at CF405.  I'm ready.  It's 10 weeks long and I'm on it!  I could care less if I win (well, that's not entirely true, I'm pretty competitive) but I can't wait to see how my body changes in 10 weeks of clean eating and exercising like a beast!

So, goals for this week are-

1.  5 cross fit sessions (only got in 4 last week due to them canceling my evening class on Friday)
2.  Run Sunday (done, 5.1 miles), Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
3.  Add in a 60 minute yoga class (I get points in the Paleo challenge for this)
4.  Try to bike at least one day for 20 miles...Thursday's weather is looking promising.
5.  Drink 100 ounces of water daily.  (Nailed that this week as well!)

Later, until next week!

Week 1 results! Success!

Well, my first week being back in the saddle was awesome, painful, tiring and REWARDING!

My exercise was 3 days of 4 mile runs, and 3 crossfit wods.  Goal was actually 5 crossfit wods, but life got in the way and I have to work on making my fitness a priority!

But, it all worked wonderfully and I lost 5 POUNDS!  Nice way to get back to it.

My nutrition was all paleo/primal.  Nothing processed...I actually enjoy eating this way.  I don't miss carbs or grains, but I had to give a lot of that up a long time ago for my daughter, who is a celiac, so it's not the end of the world for me.

I really don't count calories any more.  I use myfitnesspal on my ipad and just log what I eat.  Starting Tuesday, after my trainer Gena told me about sugars, I made sure to keep my daily sugars UNDER 15 grams.  Which is hard when you think about the sugars in fruit and TOMATOES.  I love tomatoes, but I just started counting them out and controlling the portions of tomatoes.

I also have made a rule that I must drink 100 ounces of water a day....and I got it in every day.  I drink 3 big Fiji water bottles a day.  A couple of days was even more due to my exercise and thirst!

I did have a cheat time.  We went out to eat after my daughter's basketball game to On the Border.  Mexican food is my weakness and my nemesis.  I had the chips and salsa and had an appetizer (not all of it) of the avocado sticks they have.  They were tasty.  But after eating clean for a while, NONE of it agreed with my stomach and I had cramps for the next few hours.  I won't do that again.  Cheating isn't fun if it ends up making me sick!

I start a paleo challenge at my crossfit gym next week...I will be cutting some additional items out of my diet for that.

Goals for this week:
1.  3 crossfit wods and 2 one on one training woods
2.  Run Sunday (done!), Monday, Wednesday and Friday--minimum 4 miles each day
3.  Keep my eating clean.
4.  Keep drinking my water.

Welcome to my first blog!

My name is Erin.  I live in Choctaw, Oklahoma.  I have two kids, a husband, a menagerie of animals and I want to keep calm and keep moving.  And, get fit.

This was me in May of 2011.  I was almost 365 pounds.  I had tried to lose weight SO many times.   It started with my pregnancy with my son in the year 2000 and it took 11 years for me to find the courage and self worth to do something about it.

This is me now...
This was May of 2012...I weighed 185 pounds.  What a difference a year makes.

It is January 13th, 2013.  I have gained about 15 pounds from the picture above.  I blame loss of focus, busy and any number of excuses on the weight gain.  BUT, I'm back and ready to get the rest off!!

You see where I've been...now here is where I want to be.

Goals...I have 70 pounds to lose.  I think that 130 is a very healthy weight for me, and very fit weight.  It won't be "skinny" that's not what I want.  I want MUSCLE, and TONE, and DEFINITION!  I'm hoping to get it off around the 2 year anniversary of starting my weight loss...May or June of this year.  I'm not going to lose my mind if I don't reach this goal, BUT it's still my goal.

I am starting training TODAY for 2 half marathons, one in February and one in April.  I have a few bike rides I want to do.

I also cross fit.  This is still relatively new to me and I hope to blog more about my crossfit experience.  It's awesome, though.  I truly believe that crossfit is the key to getting me to my ultimate goals and the ultimate body and health that I want.

For the next 6 weeks, I am being personal trained by one of the trainers from my crossfit gym as well.  So, I will be training 5 days a week between crossfit and my personal training sessions.  Plus running at least 5 times a week.

So, this is me in a nutshell and the reason for this blog.  To honestly discuss my journey to be the best that I can be.

Keep calm and keep moving!
