Well, my first week being back in the saddle was awesome, painful, tiring and REWARDING!
My exercise was 3 days of 4 mile runs, and 3 crossfit wods. Goal was actually 5 crossfit wods, but life got in the way and I have to work on making my fitness a priority!
But, it all worked wonderfully and I lost 5 POUNDS! Nice way to get back to it.
My nutrition was all paleo/primal. Nothing processed...I actually enjoy eating this way. I don't miss carbs or grains, but I had to give a lot of that up a long time ago for my daughter, who is a celiac, so it's not the end of the world for me.
I really don't count calories any more. I use myfitnesspal on my ipad and just log what I eat. Starting Tuesday, after my trainer Gena told me about sugars, I made sure to keep my daily sugars UNDER 15 grams. Which is hard when you think about the sugars in fruit and TOMATOES. I love tomatoes, but I just started counting them out and controlling the portions of tomatoes.
I also have made a rule that I must drink 100 ounces of water a day....and I got it in every day. I drink 3 big Fiji water bottles a day. A couple of days was even more due to my exercise and thirst!
I did have a cheat time. We went out to eat after my daughter's basketball game to On the Border. Mexican food is my weakness and my nemesis. I had the chips and salsa and had an appetizer (not all of it) of the avocado sticks they have. They were tasty. But after eating clean for a while, NONE of it agreed with my stomach and I had cramps for the next few hours. I won't do that again. Cheating isn't fun if it ends up making me sick!
I start a paleo challenge at my crossfit gym next week...I will be cutting some additional items out of my diet for that.
Goals for this week:
1. 3 crossfit wods and 2 one on one training woods
2. Run Sunday (done!), Monday, Wednesday and Friday--minimum 4 miles each day
3. Keep my eating clean.
4. Keep drinking my water.
